I do have a family tradition afterall)but this year... nuh-uh. We'll just go to my bro's house Christmas Eve & they can have their presents from him then.Crystal-Rain Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02835513349512587059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-41833387817275527752008-12-21T11:22:00.000-05:002008-12-21T11:22:00.000-05:00I know we carry traditions from both sides of our ...I know we carry traditions from both sides of our family into the holiday's, there is one that I started, when my daughters were little, it was always difficult to get everyone to sit down for Christmas Day dinner. There were toys and games to be played with. So instead of fighting fate, I started having Christmas Eve Dinner, before all the boxes and presents were opened, all attention spans were focused on the dining room table :).wstridgerunnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07431485556791617765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-14412742288134731722008-12-20T22:12:00.000-05:002008-12-20T22:12:00.000-05:00Y'all are making me feel less weird. It just seemed so wrong to me, though. I loved the whole getting up on Christmas morning at an abominably early hour and checking out what Santa left under the tree, sometimes before the parents got up. (Only you could never, ever actually play with the presents until the parents got up, because that would be bad karma for the next Christmas).Paulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06618247976093599287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-2698989884781058842008-12-20T20:00:00.000-05:002008-12-20T20:00:00.000-05:00I guess the only "tradition" we've had is baking c...I guess the only "tradition" we've had is baking cookies on Christmas Eve.Crystal-Rain Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02835513349512587059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-85670902417349631242008-12-20T18:08:00.000-05:002008-12-20T18:08:00.000-05:00My family doesn't have any traditions for Christma...My family doesn't have any traditions for Christmas but we usually have dinner at my niece's house.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-53082021246621521752008-12-20T15:26:00.000-05:002008-12-20T15:26:00.000-05:00We don't really have traditions, but my brother an...We don't really have traditions, but my brother and I like to open presents at midnight.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13040629694490652973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-24614350051767200262008-12-20T15:23:00.000-05:002008-12-20T15:23:00.000-05:00My family doesn't have any traditions. My family doesn't have any traditions.Estellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04199693275287344161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-89293384936636927382008-12-20T14:47:00.000-05:002008-12-20T14:47:00.000-05:00We don't have any specific traditions that have to...We don't have any specific traditions that have to be observed on Christmas. I am waiting to see what traditions were important to him and what new traditions they start with their young family.
We had an artificial tree that insisted on tipping over the day after Christmas one year. It never fell completely over because it fell in slow motion and someone was always there to stop it's fall and stand it back up. We, too, tell that story every year.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01728312794812033536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-64350408750596636.post-88844389761937379472008-12-20T11:34:00.000-05:002008-12-20T11:34:00.000-05:00I don't know for sure that my dad just pulled over...I don't know for sure that my dad just pulled over and cut a tree from the roadside, to be honest. I'm pretty sure he did, however, because no way he'd pay money for that...thing...he brought home. ;)

Mostly after that, we just went with an artificial tree. My roommate and I had one she cut down the first year I taught. It however was from a place that allowed you to cut your own tree.EllenToohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06114930219445131840noreply@blogger.com
