The day I was born, Texas beat OU. It would be another 11 years before that happened. The Dallas Cowboys were playing their first season.
Six Flags Over Texas was getting ready to open its gates the following summer.

I served on the board of the Texas Office Education Association for high school students my senior year...in charge of the newsletter.
Everyone knew that I wanted to be a writer. When I returned to a class reunion in 2010...no one was surprised I finally was. It took me a little while, but I'd finally followed my dream.
I received RWA's GOLDEN HEART award at around 8:30 pm...Hill Country Holdup went on sale at midnight. And of course what did I do next?...DisneyWorld
