Let's Call This One Forgetfulness!

Hi guys, sorry. I forgot to post a blog for today. Yes, I'm the one who signed me up to blog today. Yes, I set up a reminder. Yes, the reminder reminded me -- yesterday, just like I told it to. I was supposed to redo the reminder for today, and didn't. Ergo -- I missed my blog day.

Since the day's pretty much over, I'll keep this short and sweet. You tell me what you've forgotten recently and how it impacted you and/or others, and I'll draw one commenter's name for a signed copy of Death of a Beauty Queen, my June release from Harlequin.

And here's a reminder I hope you don't forget.

NO Hero, the first book in my New Orleans' Finest series from Entangled Publishing, will launch Entangled's Dead Sexy imprint on June 15. Check out the Dead Sexy Facebook page, watch #deadsexy and #entangledpublishing on Twitter and keep an eye on www.entangledpublishing.com for the Cover Reveal. The suspense is killing me! I haven't seen the cover yet!

Check out my mallorykane.com web page to sign up for my monthly newsletter to be entered into a drawing for 2 $10 Amazon gift cards plus other neat stuff.

Keep On Reading,

Mallory

  1. Forgetfulness seems to becoming my middle name... The latest thing I forgot was my brother's birthday!!! But that's ok because he forgot mine last year.

  3. Forgetful is my middle name too. I blame peri-menopause....
Last week I couldn't find the Miracle Whip that I had used last. I had my family look in the fridge for it, but no MW. They and I checked numerous cupboards and drawers in the kitchen and dining room. Nothing. I went out and bought a new one and plopped it in the fridge several days later. That night, my daughter went to take the block of cheese out and found the original MW laying on its side behind the cheese in the Ziploc bag. Jeez, Louise.... At least it wasn't ruined by being out at room temperature.
Today I called someone I had promised to call tomorrow. Oops. She totally could relate.
Last weekend I stripped the bed and wanted to put the same sheets back on later in the day. Got the laundry done and couldn't find the two pillowcases. Looked high and low. Had to use a non-matching set. Today my husband found the two pillowcases on the floor beside the washing machine (in the dark Never Never Land abyss under the staircase). Jeesh.
What next? I'm sure there will be something tomorrow ... and the next day ... and the next day....
Oh yeah. How did it impact me? Ticked me off to no end, and I had my family calling me Grandma. This is no compliment. My mother-in-law has Alzheimer's.

I understand forgetfulness. In fact I forget a lot if we have a tax deadline at work. I can't think of what I have forgotten lately but it's been a long week since we had a death in the family. :( Now I can till you that my boss almost forgot his anniversery this year. I walked in that day and told him "Happy Anniversery" and he goes you didn't start working for me in April think I meant my starting date. I went "no it's your 30th Wedding Anniversery." Needless to say he was on the phone with his wife about 2 minutes later. LOL!

  5. I have misplaced so many things lately but the one that is driving me crazy is my first Kindle. I bought a second one so that I could continue to share books that I love and I have misplaced it. I don't think that it has affected anyone else but I would really like to know where it is. Wish I could just push a button and it would chirp till I found it.

  6. Congrats on the new release. My cousin always attends a softball charity game in Philly and I asked to go with him and totally forgot about it until he called to ask if I was packed and ready.

  7. Wow. Sadly, :) you all make me feel better. I've been seriously considering going back to my Franklin Planner, which I abandoned when I retired from my day job. (Silly me.) Somehow, flipping over to the appropriate calendar date and writing a note seems more permanent than setting a reminder on an electronic calendar. I've got a smart phone now (Yay I'm in the 21st Century) but I don't trust it. Or maybe it's me I don't trust. I've already dropped it 4 times and lost it twice. (What was I talking about again?))

I'm going to wait until this afternoon to draw the winner's name (if I don't forget) just in case a few more people comment.

Thanks for all your stories. At least it's not just me :)

  8. I forgot my sister-in-law's birthday this year. Felt so bad. I remembered it two weeks later.

  9. Forget... I tend to do that even when I make lists! Nothing major for me... just little things I wanted to look for or get...
