I’m celebrating Spring (which has finally arrived in Chicago) AND the brand new cover of BORN TO BE WILD by giving away 3 Kindle copies today.
All you have to do is comment on my topic of the day – at the end of the day I will pick the winners at random from those who have left comments.
Today’s topic: Settings are important to me. Sometimes they are like another character in the story (like Suicide Hill in Born To Be Wild).
What setting would you choose to “play a character” in a story that you would like to read?

I'm easy to please when it comes to settings. I'm happy to travel the globe. I've never read a book where the setting did not fit the story.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda like Mary - I'm easy to please. However, I find that moody or wild settings generally appeal the most - ex. a lot of urban fantasy settings or else natural settings, be it jungle, mountainous or by a body of water.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous cover, Patricia! :)
I love settings that make my imagination run wild...
ReplyDeleteMisty -- thanks. The new cover is so gorgeous.
I would choose to play a character who is adventurous, maybe something like rock climbing and have it playout in a place similar but possibly not the grand canyon...dirty and dusty come to mind :)

Becky sounds like fun -- but I think I would avoid personal research on this one :)
ReplyDeleteSince I don't travel anymore I do all my traveling via books so settings are very important to me. If I was going to write one for myself though I'd probably put myself on a beach somewhere, I'm rather tired of winter.

I think I would choose to play a character somewhere in the Middle East... maybe with a desert:)
