New Beginnings

Spring always brings to mind new beginnings. Do you have plans to try something new this year? I started a vegetable garden. Put out the plants too early. Had a windy night that ripped the leaves off all my seedlings. I had some veggies in pots on the patio, too. A woodchuck got those. Check out the pictures of the great vegetable raid on my FB page www.facebook.com/danamarton . I caught the little sucker red-handed with my camera :-)

Thank God, things are going better in the writing department. New beginnings there, too. I'll have an epic fantasy out on May 1st, THE THIRD SCROLL. Then SPY HARD from Intrigue on June 1st, and THE SPY WORE SPURS on July 1st. I can't wait. I'll be doing a lot of giveaways to celebrate. Right now, I'm raffling off a prize package of a great book bag with 2 free books, a Paris stationery kit and some French almonds to snack on. I just posted all the details on my blog: http://danamarton.blogspot.com/ If you have a second, check it out!

Wishing you all the best with your new beginnings this spring,
Dana

  1. A couple years ago I planted a variety of flowers in planters on my front and back patio. I guess the squirrels were hungry that year - I couldn't keep them out of the pots!

congrats on your June and July releases!

  2. Thank you, Marcie! We have squirrels, too. And rabbits. And deer. I don't know what I was thinking. I think the garden is pretty much doomed. LOL

  3. Looking forward to Spy Hard.
I don't have problems with squirrels or rabbits or deer....I HAVE TROUBLE WITH CATS!!!! They love to potty in the freshly turned earth. In fact they have managed to destroy much of my yard as well. There are somewhere around 15 to 20 cats being fed and allowed to roam free by a neighbor two houses down!!!

  4. Cats, squirrels, coons, you name it, they feed here all the time. I gave up and now feed them. They and the birds are really fun to watch.

I saw the pics on facebook and had to laugh! That woodchuck was pretty bold. I take it you don't have a dog Dana because I know if that was happing on our backyard my dog would have gone crazy! Congrats on all the new releases!!

  6. Ellen, Yikes on the cats. I love cats, but 20 are too many.

  7. Connie, We have an amazing selection of birds: Robins, woodpeckers, bluejays, red cardinals, etc. I love watching them.

  8. Laura, I really, really want a dog. I so miss our Beagle. But sometimes a dog can do more damage to a yard than a woodchuck. (Some Beagles dig like crazy.) And right now we don't live near family to take care of a dog when we travel. :-(
