My very first cowboy cover! What do you think?

At first I wondered if this would work, with his back being to us. Frankly, if I had a choice, a front view of a shirtless cowboy would work great for me, lol. Does that mean I'm shallow?

I so love this book. I'm holding my breath to see what readers say. I received one reader note so far. This wonderful person downloaded the book this morning, read it already and wrote me about how much she loved it. I have a big smile on my face!

RT Book Reviews liked it, too. 4.5* Yay! "A top-notch mystery and great characters will keep readers speeding through the pages." Waiting for reviews is really nerve wracking, but it's so nice when they finally come in and they're good.

Do you ever buy books based on reviews? Where do you find your reviews?

What's in your reading pile for the holiday weekend?

I'm waiting for Kansas City Cowboy from Julie Miller and Secret Assignment from Paula Graves.I already have Death of a Beauty Queen from Mallory Kane. Now I just need my beach chair and a beach!

Today I'm doing cross promo with my Facebook page. To win a free book bag to carry your books to the beach with, just pop over and post something. www.facebook.com/danamarton

Good luck!

  1. I admit that book bloggers influence my book choices more than anyone else. If you find ones who have reading tastes that match your own, they become like that best friend you have coffee with who raves about what she's reading. :)

Other than that, I peruse books in the store and buy based off back cover copy.

Can't wait to read this one and I for one like that the cover isn't a shirtless cowboy. LOL

  4. I usually just check out the Harlequin site and make my decision that way. Then I check RT to see what was said.

My reading pile? All kinds of good books. I can choose between and Intrigue, Romance, Special Edition, or SuperRomance. Whatever suits my fancy.

    Congrats on the cowboy!!

  5. Love the cowboy cover, Dana. I can't wait to dive into the story. I'll have to imagine the beach, but with this heat, that won't be hard!

I enjoy cowboys too! I don't know how much reviews make me get a book. Usually it's the back of the book that gets me to buy it. The one thing about reviews that drive me nuts are negative ones that have no reason to be negative. For example I read a lot of inspirational fiction and I get annoyed when reviews complain about the amount of prayers or religion as the only problem with the book. If that's not your taste don't pick up an inspirational. Or if it's part of a series/continuity and they complain about the unresolved issues. People need to pay attention to what they are reading before bashing a book.
