DID YOU WATCH THE OSCARS?

I'm posting this before the OSCARS so I don't know who's won. I always like to know if others' picks win or not. So...

Who were you rooting for?
Should someone else have been nominated?
What's your favorite awards show?
Do you pay attention to reviews about movies or books?
Which star was the best dressed?
Which star was the worst dressed?

I really want to know!

  1. I read the follow ups to the Oscars on the Internet. Most of the gowns were a bit too much I thought. I do tend to like classic, rather than 'look at me'.

    1. True Mary.
It seemed they put out a memo for everyone to wear gold or peach. The guy on Entertainment Tonight (only heard it because my daughter was here) said that Helena Bonham Carter was the worst dressed...but I thought the dress fit her personality (especially for Les Mis). ~Angi

  2. I watched the whole show. I love Daniel Day- Lewis and I was very happy he won. Loved his speech too. I was hoping Steven Spielberg would get Best Director, but Ang Lee won. I did not like Halle Berry's dress and Jane Fonda's dress was too bright. Did not have a favorite dress. Seth MacFarlane was funny at times, but I doubt he will be back. But, what did they expect- he does Family Guy. His Boob song was hated and loved depending on who you asked. The outcry here in North Carolina is that Andy Griffith was left off the people who died tribute they had. Maybe they had to cut the list short, so Barbra Streisand could sing her songs.

    1. We watched most of it and sort of looked at each other when all the songs were featured. Shrug. Mr. Producer or Mr. Director...IF Streisand sang WHILE the in memoriam was featured, wouldn't it save time?

I really don't care for Seth MacFarlane. In fact, my daughter had to tell me what he'd actually done. And the "TED" portion was just insulting. ~Angi

  3. Sorry I did not pay any attention to the Oscars... I only found out about a handful of winners from my sister.

    1. HA HA !! My daughter insists that the Golden Globes were more representative of true awards. She actually had an app or website where she'd made her choices to see how many she got correct. ~Angi

  5. I didn't enjoy them as much this year, I liked the Golden Globes better too. I did enjoy listening to Dame Shirley Bassey and Adele sing the Bond songs. I wish they would have had all the Bonds there like it was rumoured.

I don't typical pay attention to the awards. I was glad to hear Anne Hathaway won.
