Perfect Light & Perfect Setting

Tim and I spent last weekend in Branson, Missouri with the terrifying responsibility of acting like professional photographers. And it was such an act. We take pictures, but having the responsibility of capturing the most important day for two people... we were anxious about it for several weeks.

And man did we get lucky.

It was the perfect day, light breeze for the ceremony, the golden hour of light for picture taking, a beautiful small number of the most awesome people. It was easy to take great pictures of a gorgeous couple. By the end of the weekend we felt like we'd met long-lost family.

When I was told that the bride's colors with Lime Green and Hot Pink...I literally cringed. One of my bedrooms was painted those colors for two years. (They were the colors of a teenage girl, not me. LOL)  I honestly didn't expect the arrangements to be so beautiful and inventive. The colors were just brilliant and worked so well together. And "lime green" has never been REAL limes before. >>>grin<<<

Many of our poses and ideas came from pictures posted on Pintrest. I'm really thankful for that medium of sharing.
Jimmy & Michelle "Communicate"

We had so much fun taking photos of the guests. The couples wrote wedding tips for the bride & groom.

Honestly, by the end of the day, Tim and I realized we'd been working over 8 hours. Between the both of us we'd snapped over 3,000 pictures of the rehearsal, the pre-wedding, the ceremony, and the reception. We loaded them on thumbdrives (yes it took 2) and handed them over for the couple to go through.

I definitely know why wedding photographers charge so much.
I still haven't looked through all the pictures. LOL

    1. Thanks, Jen. Stressful, but worth it. We had a great time.

Several people asked if we'd do another wedding, I said, "$2500 and all expenses paid...then we'd consider it." Tim said with a huge smile... "Nope."

  4. That is so cool, Angi, and you're right, those colors are unexpectedly elegant. I love Pinterest. I have a board devoted to wedding ideas simply because my kids are starting to move into that age. Yikes.

Okay, maybe they can wait a while longer. Have you guys thought about taking pictures for cover stock art?

    1. To be honest, I have. Discovering what type of art is needed? I don't know where to begin. And then there's the main problem...time. :-)

But I have thought about it. And would be very interested. I love taking pictures.

    2. OH, Clover. Having a list of the pictures we wanted and what the bride (and rest of the family) wanted was a life saver. We checked everything off the list except one shot that couldn't happen because of the location.

Not only did it keep us on track, it let Tim & I split up and get shots separately. Very practical and it's never to early to start a file.

    1. DO IT, Colleen. I almost always grab my camera now. I even haul it to a nail appointment. You just never know when something's going to be picture perfect.

  8. Wow. Not only was there the whole day taken with working those cameras, but you had things like the frame and blackboard to organize/work with too. Lots of details. Well well well done!

  9. Thank you Laney. I did get those ideas off Pintrest, but will take credit for some of the details. LOL So much fun. The guests were amazing in the advice they gave the couples. We took their picture, but also had a small, family video camera that recorded their message. I hope it turns out.

One piece of advice: Remember. One couple takes their wedding photos and looks at them on every anniversary to remember how much they are in love and how fun that day was for them. Terrific idea !!
