DANGEROUS MEMORIES

Wow! I really love my February cover.

The models are very good likenesses for my hero and heroine, U.S. Marshal Levi Cooper and Jolene Atkins. To introduce my next release and this week's promotion contest...

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Jolene Atkins aka Emaline Frasier--For as long as she can remember, she’s longed for a “normal” life, one free from lies. As the memories of her mother’s murder begin to resurface she has two choices: don’t remember and look over her shoulder the rest of her life; or remember, enter the WitSec program living a lie and looking over her shoulder the rest of her life. Is there a third option?

U.S. Marshal Levi Cooper--He’s the “go to” guy in the Denver Division Witness Security Program. A classic workaholic, but the guy who always keeps his word. He made a promise to Jolene’s dad--and will die before breaking his word.

U.S. Marshal Sherry Peachtree--Levi’s supervisor in the Denver office.

FBI Agent George Lanning--An acquaintance who’s worked with Levi in the Dallas office who is prepared to help in the search for the murderer.

Elaine Frasier--A Dallas defense attorney who discovered something so horrific she chose to turn Federal witness but was murdered along with two U.S. Marshals twenty years ago.

Joseph Atkins aka Robert Frasier--Jolene’s father. A Dallas landscaper who entered the WitSec program to protect his daughter. He was recently killed in a suspicious car accident after he began looking into his wife’s cases.

The Client--Represented by Elaine Frasier, they arranged for her brutal murder before she could hand over any evidence. Have they been lying in wait for the Frasiers to return?

TODAY'S QUESTION: Intrigue Readers, do you like the cast of characters? Do you glance at it or refer to it while reading the story?

I enjoy the cast of characters in the intrigues. It helps sometimes while I'm reading and I need to look back and remember how some of the characters are connected. I like the sound of your newest book. I always enjoy Witness Protection stories.

    1. That's good to know, Laura. I do try to throw the good guys in with the bad, just to keep the good sleuths out there on their toes.

  2. Hi Angi,

Love your new cover. I skip the cast of characters page. It makes it too easy to guess the bad guy.

    1. Well, I did kind of give-away who the murderer was 20 years ago... but I wonder who'd you pick for the present-day killer.

  3. So I'll try this again....

Sometimes I like a cast of characters and sometimes I don't really care if there is one. It depends on how many there are(not including the hero and heroine. If there are more than two or three I tend to get lost so I like a cast of characters.

    1. Totally get that, Ellen. If a character isn't mentioned several times, I check back to see if they're in the cast and if they're important.

  4. I look at the cast of characters before I start reading to get an idea of who is who... then sometimes I will flip back to double check a name. :) That is a mighty fine cover!

  5. I like the list of characters. As mentioned before it can be a helpful reference when reading the story. I sometimes wish other books would have them, as I find myself going back in the story to find a reference to a character that might have popped up further along in the book.

    1. I've read some books like that, Ruth. I loved having the Appendix for Lord of the Rings. I would never have been able to keep up with that trilogy without it.

  6. I find it very useful at times to have the cast of characters that I can refer to. It helps to see the relationships.

  8. I do like to have a cast of characters, I can refer back to it if I get confused. I also enjoy having that little extra background information on the characters.

    1. As an author, I should probably take advantage of using the CAST for more background info. Good reminder, Linda.
      Thanks
