And all this before I can get back to my writing! I had a little set back though that put it all in perspective. My father had a mild heart attack on Christmas Eve and was in the hospital until Sunday. I can skip a few days of refinishing my kitchen for family. I think I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have my dad as a father. He's the best. Hero-worthy. The strong silent type that has a gentle hand and a gentle heart. I'd like to keep the man around forever. The picture is of my parents getting ready for the prom over 50 years ago. Cute aren't they?So in honor of the my hero (Dad) I'm giving away 7 books today. ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute to your dad. Of your heroes I would have to pick Craig Thibodeaux from To Kiss a Frog as the most intriguing. He is the one hero who isn't immediately able to be seen as a hero just by virtue of his job. His very make up means he has to work harder than most just to have a chance of coming out ahead. I just finished Nick of Time and loved it. Nick was clearly a hero from the first page though. Gina

I know how you feel. I lost my dad from heart failure 20 years ago at age 76 and I was so glad I was able to see him every day. He was my hero. He and my mom had been married 50 years. I pray you have many more with your father.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you are coming along on your kitchen. It takes a long time to do these things. I know I have been there myself with the remodeling thing.
I am having a hard time just choosing one hero from your books, I think I like them all. Is it ok for me to choose three heros because I really liked Nick St. Claire, Joe Lonewolf and Mac McGuire. Oh well, good luck with the remodeling. I hope you have a very Happy New Year!!

ReplyDeleteSending thoughts and prayers for your Dad. This is also a sad time for me because I lost my Dad to cancer on 1/1/98. (he was only 62) It's been over 10 years, but I still miss him so much. I too wish I could have kept him forever. I love your parents prom picture. They are so cute. As far as heros. I would take Nick in Nick of Time. I hope you didn't work too hard and that your have a restful New Year's Eve. Happy New Year.
