Release Day

It's official--EXPECTING TROUBLE hits the retail shelves today, and this will be my 24th published Harlequin. I won't get a grand prize, but after next month's release of SECRET DELIVERY, I will get my 25th book pin at the RWA conference in Washington, DC.

I remember in 2002 when my first Harlequin was released, my son made me a bookshelf in shop class. He measured it and decided that it would hold about 10 books. I thought that was great and said it would be a dream come true if I could sell that many books. When I sold book #11, my son nudged me and said--Mom, you're gonna need a bigger dream.

So, here's EXPECTING TROUBLE, my "bigger dream." I hope there are lots more to come.

Tell me, what are your bigger dreams? What's the one big thing you want to do in life?

  3. Congrats Delores!! You've done great! And your son is right.......you need bigger dream; or you could dream bigger! :)

My biggest dream right now is getting both my daughters through college, I can't see anything after that. But after they are through (and hopefully making big bucks), I'll come up with a "me" dream. Since I've always wanted to write, I might try my hand at that. Earlier in life I thought I wanted to be a poet and I wrote poetry, I looked at what I wrote back then......and realized........it sucked! So peotry is out of my dream sequence ROFL!

  5. wsridgerunner, getting your daughters through college is an awesome dream, and yep, I hope you'll have a "me" dream after that. I remember before I started writing, I met my new neighbor who was a pubbed romance author. When I told her I'd always wanted to write a book, she asked--are you waiting to get younger?

    :)

I went home and started writing my book THAT DAY. So, I hope you'll do the same thing. Go ahead. Just start writing and see where it takes you.

  11. Estella, that's awesome! I want to add your biggest dream to my dream list. My daughter is still in college, so I'm not sure where she'll eventually settle, but I'd love to live close to all my kids. Don't know how I'll manage that yet, but I'll try.

  13. My biggest dream right now is having my daughter and grandson move into their own place and out of mine. LOL

My biggest personal dream is walking into a bookstore and seeing a book with my name on the spine.

  14. Tami, I hope that dream comes true for you. I know what you mean about the floating book syndrome. LOL. I think writers have very BUSY brains. :)

When you sell, I want you to come to the blog and ANNOUNCE it so I can celebrate with you!

Good luck with the personal dream too. It's an amazing feeling to see your own book in a bookstore, and I hope you get to experience it soon! Just hang in there and keep writing. Never give up, never surrender!
