For the first time in ages, I actually took the entire month of December off, and boy did I have fun. Of course, now I'm ready to get back to work, but here are some of the things I did:
--I read 8 books
--spent lots of time with my family, including several days at Harrah's Casino
--Saw three movies--The Day the Earth Stood Still (ugh), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (love it!), Valkyrie (wow, lots and lots of suspense and I'm not a Tom Cruise fan)
--ate way too much, including two meals at Buffalo Wild Wings, my son's favorite place
--watched all the Top Chef episodes I'd miss
--discovered a new favorite tea--Darjeeling First Flush Tea. (First Flush means the tea is from the first harvest of the year)
--shopped on ebay with Christmas money
So, what were some of your favorite things you did over the holiday break?

I enjoyed having family home, I got extra days off from work (floating holidays and such, had to take them or loose them), which in its own way was a gift for me. All that time off gave me extra reading time (yay me!), so I caught up on some authors, played on computer, just some quality time at home, I loved it! In other words I did nothing and I did it well! :) LOL

My father's 70th birthday was Christmas Eve and we had a small family party.

ReplyDeleteI went to my older brother's for Christmas and had a fun time. Since I am retired I can do what ever I want whenever I want but I only get to see my brother a couple of times a year.

I had a great time wrapping and unwrapping gifts and spending time with the family. I also got to watch a bit of the 24 hr marathon of "A Christmas Story."

ReplyDeleteJane, I LOVE that movie, and I watched it twice during the marathon. I still laugh my head off every time I watch it.

Sadly, we lost of 14 year old Sheltie last January, the last of our dogs. I wasn't ready to get another dog, but right before Christmas we got a beautiful kitten from a cat rescue shelter. She looks just like the cat on the cover of Familiar Vows and we named her Diva. Having her makes me realize how empty our house was this year without a pet. So, we had a great Christmas with our baby kitten, We also watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and baked cookies for Santa.
ReplyDeleteDelores, I enjoyed time with family and friends, spent time blogging with some of my favorite authors and read 4 Delores Fossen books, among 6 or 7 others. I loved it all! Returned to work refreshed and ready for new challenges.
ReplyDeleteDelores, I spent a lot of time with the family and that is my favorite part of Christmas. I also did some cooking and baking and reading of course. What better way to spend the holidays.

Virginia, I did some baking as well, and I ended reading while I was waiting on the cookies and such. I'm sure I ended up eating dozens of cookies without realizing it because I had my nose stuck in a book. LOL.
